With a commendable rating of 4.3, this family-run establishment combines warm hospitality with quality dining to create an inviting atmosphere for all. It is situated conveniently just a 7-minute walk from the Penkridge train station, making access easy for those traveling from afar.
The carvery, a highlight among guests, has received rave reviews. Alex Kubara praised the excellent service and quality of the food, noting the generous selection of meats and the standout roast potatoes. Gary Scott also echoed similar sentiments, appreciating the friendly staff and the facility that allows motorhome travelers to park overnight. Bridge House prides itself on being approachable and accommodating, welcoming both families and pets alike.
Dining at Bridge House is not just about tasty meals; it's about the experience. Visitors can enjoy a variety of dishes, including traditional favorites like fish and chips and shepherd’s pie, though some may find certain options only satisfactory. Nevertheless, the majority seem to leave happy, as Margaret O'Callaghan noted, despite a slight delay in service when dining with a larger party. The cafe’s vibrant environment fosters an unpretentious vibe — a true local pub feel — that resonates with both patrons and staff.
For those looking to explore beyond the hotel, nearby attractions such as the Shugborough Estate, known for its preserved Georgian architecture, and the splendid Weston Park, offer plenty of opportunities for visitors. Additionally, the Cannock Chase National Landscape presents a perfect backdrop for outdoor adventures.
While Bridge House Hotel offers no pool or fitness center, guests can take advantage of complimentary amenities like Wi-Fi and breakfast, alongside free parking. This spot is perfect for families, dog owners, and anyone seeking a relaxed stopover with quality food and friendly service.
In summary, the Bridge House Hotel is more than just a place to stay; it's a community hub that brings together the best of local hospitality and culinary delights. With its warm atmosphere, reasonable pricing, and accessibility, it’s a fitting residence for anyone venturing into Staffordshire.

Came today for the carvery having not been here before. The service and tables were good and what you'd expect from a local pub, and good of the pub to seat 11 of us all at one long take. The carvery was excellent, and very reasonably priced. Good choices of meats and loads of different veg - the roast potatoes were a highlight! I didn't have room for any pudding but a few others on the table had them and they looked pretty impressive. Definitely coming back soon!
Really nice place and carvery, staff and locals very friendly, if you're there in a motorhome/campervan you can stay in the car park please don't leave any litter, and there's a Chinese over the road, perfect spot for a sleep over on your way north or south
Had a beautiful carvery, didn't have to wait, toilets were clean, service with a smile
Another great BCA pub thats dog friendly and very welcoming from the staff and punters. The only let down was seeing pale, citrus or fruity ales on. So took the huff and had a lovely capucino, pork pie and cob.
Friendly attentive staff. Nice atmosphere. Fish and chips good, faggots good, lasagne ok, shepherds pie ok (didn't really need the chips). Desserts so so.
Visited just for evening meal. Very good, and reasonably priced. 11 in the party, service and little slow
